Officially An Endo Warrior

This past Tuesday I had my first laparoscopy. They cut three places and took two biopsies. So now I have officially been diagnosed with Endometriosis. Endometriosis is when the lining of your uterus grows outside of your uterus. Here are some of the symptoms that people with Endo suffer with-
  • Pain, which can be:
    • Pelvic pain.
    • Severe menstrual cramps.
    • Low backache 1 or 2 days before the start of the menstrual period (or earlier).
    • Pain during sexual intercourse.
    • Rectal pain.
    • Pain during bowel movements.
  • Infertility may be the only sign that you have endometriosis. Between 20% and 40% of women who are infertile have endometriosis.
  • Abnormal bleeding. This can include:
    • Blood in the urine or stool.
    • Some vaginal bleeding before the start of the menstrual period.
    • Vaginal bleeding after sex

  • Mrs. Squishy was with me the whole time! They even gave her a medical bracelet and let her go back to surgery with me.

    We had matching hospital gowns!

One of my three incisions. They are stitched on the inside and glued on the outside. I have one in my belly button, on my left hip, and on my pelvic area.

Here are the two areas where they found endo and took the biopsies.

Here is a comparison between normal tissue and mine.

I have an appointment with my doctor in August to talk about potential treatment options. Endometriosis doesn't have a cure but hopefully we will be able to make it more manageable for me!
